Could you please introduce yourself?

Hello! My name is Faith and I am teacher of First Class Innoventure. My favorite quote is from Rainer Maria Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet, “Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue.” It’s a pleasure to meet you!

What are your hobbies?

I love stories in all forms: books, movies, comics, television shows, video games and etc. So it has become my hobby to read, watch and experience as many stories as I possibly can.

When is your birthday?

I was born on March 1, 1997.

What is your favorite color?Why?

My favorite color is blue. Because of Pablo Picasso’s Blue Period, where most of his paintings were painted in blue and blue-green.

What is your favorite native Filipino food?

Since I love desserts a lot. A few of my favorite Filipino desserts are: bibingka, moron, binignit and fruit salad.

Where is the place to visit in Cebu that you’d recommend?

Since I come from the northern part of Cebu, I recommend you visit Moalboal if you love beaches and love to swim. Or maybe visit the small island of Capitancillo for a relaxing afternoon? Just don’t forget to pick up your Pintos, a local delicacy of Bogo, on your way to your trip!

How do you describe your personality?

I tend to observe and listen.I value hard work and push myself to meet the standards I set myself to. I am keenly aware of my weaknesses and I try to overcome them but I’m also learning to forgive myself when I fail to do so. My curiosity is voracious as I love learning about the world and how it works.

What do you want to become in another life?

I would love to become a chef. The act of combining different ingredients and creating something that tastes, smells and looks good is nothing short but magic to me.

What inspired you to become a teacher?

I was lucky to be mentored under inspiring and capable teachers myself and they have made an impact in my life. I realize the value and role of teachers in helping people achieve their goals. I want to help students and I love seeing my students grow not only in their studies but as people. Knowing that I’m a tiny contributing part of a student’s achievements makes me proud.

What made you decide to work at FCI?
(First Class

I believe in the principals and standards set by FCI. They value their employees and create a wonderful environment for both students and teachers. I’m sure FCI will mold me into a better teacher and person.

Is there something that you keep in mind when you teach students English language?

Learning a skill is always difficult and that’s what learning the English language, any language, is—it’s a skill. But if the student is passionate and interested in learning the English language then I must meet those emotions with an equally passionate and interesting teaching style.

Any message to future students?

Never be scared to push yourself to learn something new. Learning the English language might be difficult and frustrating but it is a skill you’ll take with you for the rest of your life. Hopefully, I’ll be a great help to aid you in this journey. See you soon!
